The Christmas Break is the perfect time to bond with your children and create beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. Baking together can be a fun and meaningful activity that will fill your home with the delightful aroma of freshly baked treats and bring you closer as a family. To help you create beautiful memories, Sylvia's Little Basket will share one of her cookie recipes with you:
CHOCOLATE DREAM COOKIES (24 cookies)
INGREDIENTS:
One and a half cups of all-purpose flour.
Two cups of Nutella.
Half a cup of cocoa powder.
Two eggs.
One and a half teaspoons of baking powder.
One teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.
Three teaspoons of brewed coffee.
Half a cup of butter (melted and cooled.)
One cup of sugar.
Kosher or sea salt
One cup of white chocolate chips.
Optional to make them extra special: toasted pecan and crushed peppermint candies.
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cream butter and sugar in a bowl until creamed and fully incorporated.
Add egg and mix until well blended.
Add the Nutella and the cocoa powder and mix well.
Add the pure vanilla extract, the brewed coffee, and the baking powder.
Add flour gradually. Try not to overmix so the batter doesn't get too much air.
Fold the white chocolate chips.
Extra step if you want to make them extra special: Divide the batter into three bowls and fold the toasted pecans on one of the bowls and crushed peppermint candies on the other. (optional)
Let the batter chill covered in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Make balls with the batter (make sure they are all the same size.) Put the balls onto the baking sheet and press them slightly. Leave space between them, as they'll spread.
Bake for 12-13 minutes. They will look underbaked but set to the right consistency when cooled, crispy in the edges, and soft and chewy in the middle.
When baked, set the cookies on a cooling rack for 10 minutes. You can sprinkle sea salt or Kosher salt for an extra kick. The salt will enhance the chocolate flavor, making the cookie more delicious.
They are ready to enjoy!
We hope this recipe will create the opportunity for great memories together. Remember that the goal is to have fun together, so don't stress about perfection. The importance of baking together is in the memories, joy, and bonding we create while we bake, not in the final product. Have fun baking, warriors!
