Be an Encourager!

In a world where criticism, negativity, and belittling others are common, let us choose to be encouragers and lift each other. We can be agents of change by spreading kindness and supporting one another. Let us strive to be more like Jesus in every encounter and relationship. There is a powerful quote by Jim Rohn that says, “Look, if you want things to change, you have to change. If you change, everything will change for you. Do not wait for things to change. As Christians, we must be different, and we must be careful of our actions and words. We must put ourselves in the shoes of others and use positive encouragement instead of damaging criticism.

We frequently rely on negative criticism rather than positive feedback, and this tendency can unintentionally harm others. Since childhood, we have seen how others emphasize the negative over the positive, making it challenging for us as adults to embrace the wisdom of the saying If you do not have anything good to say, it is better to remain silent. It is a fact that most people dislike criticism, yet many are quick to judge and belittle others. The lesson is straightforward: treat others as you wish them to treat you. However, far too often, people do the exact opposite. It is time to change this pattern.

What if the next time you feel the urge to say something negative, you took a moment to pause and reflect on your words? Instead of highlighting the flaws, try to find something positive to share. By doing this, you can become a beacon of change in the lives of those around you. Imagine the impact you could have when you choose to uplift others instead of pointing out their flaws. Focusing on their strengths will foster a sense of value and encouragement, creating an environment filled with respect and warmth.

Do you want change in your workplace, church, school, home, or family? Rather than offering criticism, be the one who spreads kindness and understanding. Celebrate the small victories and guide others with gentle teaching. Be the light that ignites empathy and compassion, inspiring those around you. Let your presence bring light to dark situations and help others see the beauty within themselves. When you seek change in your surroundings, remember that it begins with you. Embrace the love and support you wish to receive and offer it freely to others. Let your kind heart spark a change toward positivity and growth, and watch how it transforms those around you.
